Auckland’s astounding Miss Ribena (pictured in a silver and red confection) is to act as mistress of ceremonies on the “Hikoi on Heels” tour which begins on July 24. Just like Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, this tour will feature a bus carrying its glamorous cargo to each glittering event. In each city Ribena and her pals will be joined by local drag queens in a feast of entertainment.
“Hikoi on Heels” is a fund-raising venture for the 2010 Hui Takatāpui . The hui aims to increase Māori support for HIV prevention as well as provide leadership and advice on issues for takatāpui . It also provides an opportunity for takatāpui to network, have fun, play sport and be entertained in a safe and supportive environment.
It’s only $5 or koha to attend the “Hikoi on Heels” shows. Here’s the full schedule.
